1. How much time will you take to understand my business?

If their first reply is something along the lines of “We will start with doing Meta ads” or “We will work on SEO,” etc., then you need to look elsewhere. Any competent agency should listen to the client first before coming up with a strategy.

2. Can I see your past work?

Don’t take their word for it. If they are honest about their work, they will have examples, case studies, testimonials, reports, or even something as simple as a “before and after” snapshot ready to show you.

3. What will be our metric for success?

When asking this question, a vague reply such as “There will be growth” is not good enough. Ask them what exactly they will do to measure a successful campaign. If they are unable to give you a straight reply now, most probably they won’t be able to provide you with a detailed report later as well.

4. What is the contract/commitment period?

Some agencies keep you tied to them for a very long time. It is important to ask them about the bond or commitment period. You should also ask them how easy it would be for you to dissociate from them if you are not satisfied with their performance.

5. Who will be working on my project?

Most agencies have different people doing the legwork than those selling you the service. It’s okay to ask about this. If you sign up with them, who will handle your work? What is the point of your contact?
